A dark grey blanket covers the sun.
It's too hard to get up today.
The rain beats a rhythm on the ground, like a drum
And the water droplets ricochet.
My bed is warm and cozy. It's my very own den.
I'd like to stay inside for a while.
But Mother kisses me good morning. The clock says 7:10,
So I'll get up and try to greet her with a smile.
If I lived where the snow falls and drifts across the ground
Then the buses couldn't take me to school.
But instead I will hunt 'til my rubber boots are found
Then go outside and brave the sky drool.
